Full Description
March 2007. Exposed by scour, in an area usually covered by sand, northeast of Red Lion Steps.
Five wooden posts, solid condition, maximum 0.24m tall and 0.17m diameter, roughly in two lines forming an ‘L’ shape, dimensions 1.50m north to south by 1.40m east to west. These may be the remains of the wooden structure of Randell’s Warm Sea Bath built in 1814, or timbers associated with a well on the site, or part of a miniature jetty that appears in some of the drawings in (S1). Local opinion is divided.
See (S1).
