1994. Metal-detecting.
Found on building site (Abbey Homes site, formerly Lamberts Garage):
1 Early Saxon cast copper alloy annular brooch. Unusual stepped form, with outer ring of V-shaped stamps and inner ring of annular stamps, and remains of iron pin.
See drawing (S1) and polaroid (S2) (addorsed in W.F. Milligan's hand TL 88 SE 336. 18/10/94).
This find was originally recorded on the basis of A. Rogerson's memory of discussion with W.F. Milligan (NCM) regarding a casual find on a building site at Fryer's Walk. The paperwork relating to this discovery has now been located, allowing its location to be confirmed.
