Map

November 2006. Walkover Survey.
Felbrigg Estate Woodland Archaeological Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey. Great Wood, Site 3:
Another north-south double feature, 0.9m wide, with banks up to 3m wide and 0.4m high and slight inner ditches either side of a raised central ridge.
A 5m wide linear depression extends from the road to the east to link with the eastern feature as a south-facing scarp, approximately 100m from its northern end.
This is interpreted as a former trackway.
It is shown as an enclosure boundary on (S1) and (S2), but (S3) shows the linking section continuing to the south as a roadway to the common edge of Site 1 (NHER 50210), with (S4) indicating it continuing as a road to Felbrigg village across the common.
See report (S5) for further details.
