Summary

A watching brief recorded two ditches which appear on the Tithe Map of this area, along with a late post medieval rubbish pit containing a Bovril bottle.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with residential development. From Context 1.
Two ditches were noted, both of which appear on the 1830 Tithe Map of the parish. One of these contained several small fragments of brick. A late 19th century rubbish pit was also recorded, and contained part of a Bovril bottle, meaning that it post-dates 1889. No traces were recorded of the brick kiln known to have been in this vicinity.
