Map

August 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A pair of World War Two bomb craters, 5m in diameter, are visible on aerial photographs within the field to the west of the junction of Station Road and Burgh Road, Wheatacre (S1). The site is centred on TM 4591 9461. It is possible that these bomb craters are result of the bombing decoy located 2.5km to the east (NHER 13610) drawing raids towards this area of the Broads. This area is recorded as having been heavily bombed during the war (S2).
S. Massey (NMP), 16 August 2006.
