Map

June 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of rectilinear enclosures and field boundaries of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3219 0347. A rectilinear enclosure, measuring up to 104m by 94m externally is visible as a cropmark. Its northern side is sub-divided into three smaller enclosures, all measuring 18m wide, with lengths of 57m, 41m and 11m. The stepped field boundary on the eastern side of the enclosure is shown on the 1846 Claxton tithe map (S2). It is likely that the enclosure is a field and that the associated ditches are field boundaries of medieval to post medieval date.
J. Albone (NMP), 14 June 2007
