Map

June 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of a possible medieval post medieval post mill and a rectangular enclosure are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S4). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3030 0379. A cross-shaped pit cropmark, measuring up to 10m across, is present. It is likely that this cropmark relates to a post mill of medieval to post medieval date. It is common for the cross-shaped pit to be located in the centre of a ring ditch, but as here, this is not always the case. The cross appears to lie inside an incomplete rectangular enclosure which measures 45m by at least 34m. It is likely that the enclosure is associated with the windmill and that it is also of medieval to post medieval date.
