The cropmarks of a series of medieval to post medieval enclosures and field boundaries associated with the former medieval hall (NHER 11859) are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Pilson Green, South Walsham (S1-S6). The site is centred on TG 3725 1346. These cropmarks overlie a series of undated, but probably Roman, enclosures and fields (NHER 49468).
Centred on TG 3734 1333 to the east of the present Manor Farm is a series of conjoined rectilinear enclosures and boundaries following a similar alignment to the remaining Manor Farm boundaries. This is thought to have been the location of the former medieval Manor house or Hall, destroyed prior to the seventeenth century. It is likely that the cropmarks relate to the layout and property boundaries associated with the hall. No definite sign of the building can be identified, although an angular T-shaped pit-like feature, 17m long and up 15m across at TG 3730 1334, may reveal the former location of a building or sunken structure.
To the north of School Road are a series of field boundaries and tracks following the same alignment. None of these boundaries are marked on the 1838 South Walsham Tithe map (S7) and therefore presumably relate to a medieval to post medieval layout removed prior to the mid nineteenth century. Similar boundaries have been mapped to the east of Pilson Green (NHER 49509).
