Full Description
June 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a small group of enclosures and field boundaries of unknown, but possibly late prehistoric to Roman date, are visible on aerial photographs to the northwest of Grange Farm, Surlingham (S1-S2). The site is centred on TG 3202 0616. Roman, Saxon and medieval to post medieval finds (NHER 31456-7, 35985) have been found within the area.
The majority of the ditches and boundaries are aligned roughly NW-SE and NE-SW and appear to define fragmentary rectilinear enclosures with internal subdivisions and with associated boundaries to the southwest.
