The cropmarks of a group of undated ditches, probably the remains of former field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs to the south of Holloway Road, Surlingham (S1-S2). The site is centred on TG 3108 0532. Finds in this general area range from Roman, Saxon, medieval and post medieval in date (NHER 31656, 31390, 50027). The majority of the ditches are aligned roughly NW-SE and NE-SW and may be associated with a fragmentary field system and possible enclosures mapped to the west (NHER 49589).
