Map

June 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of fragmentary enclosures and field boundaries of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs near View Farm, Lingwood (S1-S3). The site is centred on TG 3682 0944.

The site consists of a dispersed group of fragmentary ditches, the majority of which are likely to former field boundaries. Although the cropmarks centred on TG 3680 0916 may represent the remains of a small group of conjoined rectilinear enclosures. Saxon to post medieval date finds have been recovered from the area around this site (NHER 25942, 37456, 37669). Although it is not clear whether this reflects the date of the any of the cropmarks.
S. Massey (NMP), 28 June 2007.

March 2018. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey on route of proposed A47 to North Burlingham upgrade works.
Although one of the areas examined (Area BLO8) coincided with the north-east to south-west aligned cropmark at TG 3685 0973 there was no evidence for surviving sub-surface remains. Two parallel north-west to south-east aligned linear anomalies identified nearby did though potentially represent features related to this cropmark group.
See NHER 60803 for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 29 March 2021.
