Summary

The cropmarks of field boundaries of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs at Hassingham. The site consists of a group of fragmentary field boundaries, possibly part of a field system of unknown date. It is possible that these are late prehistoric to Roman date in date.

The cropmarks of field boundaries of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs at Hassingham (S1-S2). The site is centred on TG 3678 0571. The site consists of a group of fragmentary field boundaries, possibly part of a field system of unknown date. It is possible that these are late prehistoric to Roman date in date. The boundaries follow a similar alignment to a series of enclosures and fields to the east interpreted as being Roman in date (NHER 49869). Finds of a Roman date have also been found within the area around this site.
