Map

June 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of possible ditched boundaries of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs to the south of Oaklands, North Burlingham (S1). The site is centred on TG 3599 0982. These cropmarks are only visible on one vertical aerial photograph (no stereo pair was available) and therefore the identification of these cropmarks is slightly uncertain. The cropmarks would appear to reveal two fragmentary ditches, possibly the remains of former field boundaries of unknown date. Finds of an Iron Age, Roman and Saxon date have also been found within the area around this site (NHER 40674) and it is therefore possible that the cropmarks relate to activity dating to those periods represented by the finds.
S. Massey (NMP), 28 June 2007.
