Summary

An area of parallel ridge and depressions was recorded during the Barton Leys Fincham Estate Woodland Archaeological Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey in 2006. Their overall function and age is unclear, but drainage seems most likely.

Woodland Archaeological Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey. Barton Leys, Site 8:
A 0.7 hectare area of probably eleven parallel ridge and depressions aligned east to west and in an area of some underfoot dampness. Ridges no more than 0.2m higher than the base of the depressions.
Their overall function and age is unclear, but drainage seems most likely.
