Summary

A systematic fieldwalking and metal-detecting survey of part of this field undertaken in 2007 identified a concentration of burnt flints that could represent the remains of a prehistoric 'pot boiler' site. A small number of prehistoric worked flints were the only other finds of note recovered.

Full Description

March 2007. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed line of Norwich Northern Distributor Road (Field 4).
A notable quantity of burnt flint recovered towards the centre of the field may represent the remains of a prehistoric 'pot boiler' site. Other finds were limited to a small number of prehistoric worked flints and an undatable droplet of copper alloy.
