Summary

A systematic fieldwalking metal-detecting survey of part of this field in 2007 recovered prehistoric worked flints; medieval pottery sherds; undatable metal-working debris; post-medieval coins and a range of other post-medieval and undatable metal objects. The metal finds included a post-medieval furniture handle, copper alloy and lead buttons and various undatable copper alloy and lead objects.

Field survey on proposed line of Norwich Northern Distributor Road (Field 43).
Finds recovered included:
42 prehistoric worked flints.
3 medieval pottery sherds.
4 post-medieval coins, 1 ?coin, 5 ceramic building material fragments, 1 furniture handle, 1 copper alloy rivet, 1 copper alloy button, 1 copper alloy sheet fragment, 1 copper alloy perforated disc, 2 copper alloy fittings, 1 lead fitting, 1 lead button and 1 lead pencil sharpener.
9 undatable metal working debris fragments, 1 iron unidentified object, 1 copper alloy ring, 1 copper alloy decorative sheet, 4 copper alloy waste fragments, 1 lead fitting, 2 lead discs, 1 lead ?weigh/seal and 10 miscellaneous lead fragments.
