Summary

A watching brief in 2007 revealed a single undated pit containing a homogenous fill, perhaps indicating that it was used as a cess pit.

July 2007. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of residential dwellings.
A single large pit was observed in the section of a footing trench. No dating evidence was recovered from this feature, although several fragments of brick rubble were noted. The fill of this pit was homogenous, suggesting an organic backfill, perhaps that of a cess pit.
No other archaeological finds or features were observed.
