Full Description
July 2007. Norfolk NMP.
Probable post medieval field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TM 3935 9894. Some appear to correspond to boundaries depicted on historic maps, such as Heckingham Enclosure Map of 1817 (S2). Most of the remainder fit the same pattern of enclosure. A few which cut across this pattern are still similar in character and likely to date to broadly the same period, although they could instead be field drains or represent a different phase of activity.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 31 July 2007.
