Map

August 2007. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of a possible ring ditch or bank is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The cropmark is circular in plan with a narrow ditch or bank and an external diameter of 19m. It appears as a negative cropmark, normally indicative of a bank, but these could relate to a ditch. It is possible that it is of Bronze Age date and that it relates to a round barrow. However, the cropmark is visible in both June 1945 and January 1946 making it is more likely that it relates to a non-archaeological or modern feature. A faint mark is also visible at this location on aerial photographs dating from March 1942 (S3) suggesting that it does not relate to a World War Two military structure.
J. Albone (NMP), 23 August 2007.
