Map

August 2007. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of two parallel linear ditches, possibly relating to a post medieval field boundary are visible on aerial photographs (S1). This cropmark was previously recorded as part of NHER 15275. Two parallel linear ditch cropmarks are present forming a right angled arrangement. The ditches are spaced 3.5m apart. It is possible that they relate to a narrow trackway, or that they form part of a double ditched enclosure that is cut by the parish boundary and Spreadoak plantation to the south. However, the corner formed by the ditches appears to align with a kink in a field boundary 100m to the north shown on the second edition 25 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S2). It is possible that the cropmarks relate to a double ditched field boundary of post medieval date. The site of these cropmarks has been destroyed by quarrying.
J. Albone (NMP), 23 August 2007.
