Cropmarks of possible former gravel pits are visible on aerial photographs (S1). A large rectilinear pit cropmark is present parallel to the Trout Stream east of Blackborough End. It is similar in form to an extant but disused gravel pit located immediately to its southwest. It is possible that the cropmark relates to a former gravel pit of post medieval date. It is not marked on the 1838 East Winch tithe map (S2) or later maps. A similar pit-like cropmark is located a short distance to the north (NHER 50753)
