Full Description
December 2007.
A three sided trapezodial shaped water filled enclosure is shown on the Didlington tithe map (S1). It measures about 58m north to south (maximum) by 46m east to west, with a possible causeway in the centre of the northern side. It could be a medieval moat.
The enclosure does not appear on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S2) or on current digital Ordnance Survey maps.
D. Robertson (NLA), 18 December 2007.
November 2018. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The possible moat (as described above) was not seen on the aerial photos and lidar visualisations analysed as part of this project.
J.Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 16th November 2018.
