Full Description
December 2007.
The site of a post medieval duck decoy pond is shown on historic maps. It is marked on both Faden’s 1797 county map (S1) and Bryant’s 1826 county map (S2). A large teardrop-shaped pond is marked on the Wormegay tithe map of 1838 (S3). The site lies partly within a woodland called ‘The Decoy’. Its southern half has been destroyed by gravel extraction (S4).
