Map

January 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a group of undated and multi-period fragmentary rectilinear enclosure and linear ditches, probably representing the remains of former field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Sparham Grove (S1-S2). The site is centred on TG 0537 1981. The date of these features is not certain, although it is possible that some of these features are Roman in date. Roman and medieval date finds have been found within the general vicinity of these cropmarks (NHER 31733).

A significant proportion of the boundaries are aligned NE-SW or NW-SE and may represent part of a small field system. The remainder of the cropmarks consist of fragmentary single and double linear ditches, probably representing a palimpsest of former field boundaries and trackways, either pre-dating or post-dating the main phase of fields.
