Summary

Two probable post medieval field boundaries and an undated ditch are visible as cropmarks and soilmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1946. The two field boundaries are relatively substantial, and conform to the modern field pattern. The archaeological significance of the undated ditch is uncertain; it may merely be a recent track or other modern agricultural feature.

Map

January 2008. Norfolk NMP.
Three linear boundaries are visible as soilmarks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 (S1)-(S2), centred at TG 2590 1738. The two more substantial boundaries – one comprising a bank or track flanked by ditches, the other a plain ditch – conform to the modern pattern of enclosure and are probably post medieval field boundaries. The remaining ditch, which is rather curvilinear and oriented almost parallel to Stanninghall Road to its west, is undated. Its archaeological significance is uncertain, as it could merely be a recent track or other agricultural feature.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 9 January 2008.
