Summary

A linear ditch visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs almost certainly represents a post medieval field boundary. The cropmark is relatively well defined, and continues the line of a modern hedgerow. Its orientation is markedly different to that of other cropmarks in the vicinity, including the ditch circuit of a Roman camp (NHER 4379).
