Map

January 2008. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site. Contexts 1000-1039.
The three trial trenches excavated revealed several post medieval pits, post holes, and ditches as well as a post medieval well or soakaway and remains of post-medieval to modern brick structure. These remains are most likely associated with cottages depicted on the southern boundary of the plot on the second edition ordnance survey map of 1906 (S2). One post hole and one pit contained late medieval or early post-medieval pottery sherds and may date to this period. Other finds include 18th-19th century pantile, one fragment of cream floor tile, sheep/goat, rabbit, cattle, and goose bones, and one fragment each of oyster shell and mussel shell.
See report (S1) for further details.
