Summary

A linear ditch, probably of post medieval date, and a curvilinear ditch, the date of which is unknown, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The linear cropmark conforms to the modern field pattern and may represent a post medieval field boundary. The curvilinear cropmark is of uncertain origin and may be of no archaeological significance.

Map

February 2008. Norfolk NMP.
Two ditches are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred at TG 2921 1673. The linear ditch, which has an almost north-south orientation, meets a kink in the modern hedgeline to its south, and seems likely to represent a post medieval field boundary. The curvilinear ditch is of unknown date and may not even be of archaeological origin; it could instead be a product of the underlying geology at the site or of recent agricultural activity.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 11 February 2008.
