Full Description
March 2008. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of possible fragmentary ditches, potentially representing the remains of former field boundaries of unknown date, are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Billingford Common (S1-S2). The majority of these cropmarks follow the general alignment of boundaries, thought to be of Roman date, to the east (NHER 50870) and therefore may be Roman in date. It is possible that these cropmarks date to the Iron Age or Saxon periods as finds spanning these dates have been found in the general vicinity of the site (NHER 25939).
S. Massey (NMP), 03 March 2008.
