Summary

The earthworks of a probable medieval to post medieval flood and water management features, are visible on aerial photographs along the floor of the River Wensum to the northwest of Oak Cottages, Bylaugh. The site consists of a series of linear banks on the valley floor that pre-date the post medieval drainage channels that are marked on the 1840 Bylaugh tithe map.

The earthworks of a probable medieval to post medieval flood and water management features, are visible on aerial photographs (S1) along the floor of the River Wensum to the northwest of Oak Cottages, Bylaugh. The site is centred on TG 0220 1919. The site consists of a series of linear banks on the valley floor that pre-date the post medieval drainage channels that are marked on the 1840 Bylaugh tithe map (S2).
