March 2008. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of probable medieval to post medieval enclosure and/or drainage ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Willow Holt, Tottenhill (S1-S2). This site is centred on TF 6475 1193. A sherd of a medieval pottery has been found in the general vicinity of the cropmarks (NHER 23596-7).

The site consists of a series of ditches possibly forming a rectangular enclosure, with a possible entrance feature on the southern side. However comparison of the ditches with other nearby drainage channels could indicate that this apparent ‘enclosure’ is in fact a rectilinear arrangement of drainage channels. The linears are all broadly aligned the same as the surrounding field and drain layout. Although the presence of medieval material could indicate that it is a medieval enclosure. Cropmarks within the area of this site that appear to form part of a late prehistoric to Roman date site to the north (NHER 50930) have been recorded separately.
S. Massey (NMP), 05 March February 2008.
