Summary

A three span girder bridge over the River Bure, constructed by William Waddell in 1879 for the Bure Valley line (NHER 13587) of the Great Eastern Railway. Constructed of cast-iron and steel, the bridge is an early and well-preserved example of a transitional type.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"This railway bridge was constructed by William Waddell in 1879 for the Great Eastern Railway. It is a three span girder bridge over the river Bure, constructed of cast-iron and steel. The bridge is supported on paired cast-iron columns, two pairs cross-braced together to each pier."
