Summary

Earthwork banks surrounding the west, north, and east sides of a pond at Abbey Farm were noted in January 2008. Investigation has confirmed that the banks were created from upcast from dredging of the pond in the 1950's.

Earthwork banks surrounding the pond at Abbey Farm were noted by a member of the public [1] in January 2008. Inspection of the site confirmed that steep-sided banks up to 3m high surround the west, north, and east sides of the pond. Discussion with the current landowners revealed that the banks were created from upcast from dredging of the pond in the 1950's.
