Map

Site of early 19th century warehouse, and 1930s grain siloes.
See (S1) in file, compiled at time of application to construct a block of flats, which gives history and also details of adjacent river walls.
(S1) reports that the warehouse was built 'about 100 years ago' and was five storeys with a slate roof. Two railway lines went into the building and a third was close to the west gable. Modern methods of grain handling meant that this building became obsolete and demolition of the warehouse commenced in 1963.
In the end the area was laid out as a public square.
