Waveney Saw Mills shown on (S1) on both sides of dock, with maltings to the north.
Photograph of the 1920s reproduced in (S2) shows sawmill north section had tall steam engine chimney, south section was weatherboarded; in background, thatched houses which seem to be of some age. 1999 photo in same ref shows chimney surviving but houses gone.
All demolished before 2006 and replaced by new housing estate, dock greatly enlarged to form marina.

This site is noted in several directories including White's (S3) and Kelly's (S4) from 1875 to 1937. The site closed in 1999.
