Map

Marshland Villa; broken brick house of three bays two storeys, facing west; central door to façade later blocked and window arches collapsed. Dated 1871.
To west, Villa Cottage, small house facing south with north catslide; red brick. No buildings here on (S1) but present on (S2) as is the large brick barn to northeast aligned east-west; smaller barn connecting it with the cottage is not shown on that map, but there is a detached barn to the southwest which has since gone.
Interesting as example of how this area changed in 19th century from grazing marshes for the Seven Towns to arable fen.
E. Rose (NLA), 5 December 2006.
