Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2008 and 2020 recovered Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; a post-medieval token and a range of other, Late Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Bronze Age socketed spearhead and copper alloy awl; Late Iron Age/Roman brooches and a button and loop fastener; Roman brooches, a votive miniature axe, copper alloy bead and unidentified copper alloy object; an Early Saxon brooch; a Middle Saxon pin and tweezers; a Late Saxon brooch, strap end and stirrup-strap mount; a Late Saxon/medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a medieval/post-medieval silver button or cuff-link); a medieval thimble and lead seal matrix; a medieval/post-medieval thimble, copper alloy vessel leg and copper alloy 'paper-clip' rivet and a post-medieval purse frame fragment, spur and lead powder flask nozzle.
