Summary

Archaeological work at this site between 2008 and 2010 uncovered little of interest. Trial trenching in 2008 revealed no archaeologically significant features or deposits and a watching brief maintained during subsequent groundworks in 2009/2010 had similarly negative results.

Full Description

The results of a field survey undertaken in March-April 2008 are now recorded under NHER 60308.

September-November 2008. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site on proposed route of Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection cable (Trench 24).
The single trench excavated in this field revealed no archaeologically significant features or deposits.
No finds were recovered.
The subsoil deposit present was seen as evidence of medieval open-field agriculture.

Monitoring of topsoil stripping and other groundworks associated with installation of the Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection cable.
No archaeologically significant features observed.
