Map

March-April 2008. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection (Field 13).
Site conditions were poor and as a result few finds were recovered. Those that were included:
1 post-medieval button.
1 modern cast copper alloy bell fragment.
1 undatable folded copper alloy sheet.
During metal-detecting a heavy concentration of ferrous signals was identified in the centre of the field. A modern iron screw was recovered at this location and it is therefore possible that a scatter of similar objects was present. Occasional fragments of ceramic building material and obviously modern metal objects were also noted but not recovered.
See report (S1) for further details. This work is also noted in (S2)
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.361).
