Summary

Metal-detecting between 2007 and 2013 recovered prehistoric worked flints including a Late Neolithic/Bronze Age scraper; Early Iron Age/Roman, Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman and medieval coins and Middle Saxon to post-medieval and undated metal objects. The metal finds include a Middle Saxon Ansate brooch; Late Saxon brooches, mount, ear/finger ring; Anglo-Scandinavian copper alloy bridle cheek piece; medieval lead pot mends, zoomorphic furniture mount or binding strip, spur, buckle, strap fitting, harness mount, key and buckle; medieval/post-medieval hooked tag, candlestick, chafing dish and lead weight and a post-medieval sword belt fitting, buckle and unidentified lead object.
