Summary

No archaeological finds or features were noted during an evaluation in 2008. In 2007 a geoarchaeological investigation in the area revealed a number of palaeosols (buried soils).

November-December 2007. Auger Survey.
The survey revealed a number of palaeosols and the development of soil in this area may have been caused by a lower water table resulting in less frequent waterlogging. It is possible that these buried soils may contain dry land archaeological sites on the ridge running between the two depressions.
