Map

1979. Field survey.
Small house, seen in 1979 or thereabouts when it had been stripped down to four brick walls with internal gable stacks. There were wallplates laid on top of the brickwork with stud mortices in their sides - it seemed more probable at the time that the timbers were reused from elsewhere rather than being origial and turned on their sides. However, (S1) in 1986 advertised the building as having brickwork dated to 1708AD enclosing an earlier timber frame. The building had been extended since 1979 and given a new thatched roof with dormers. (S1) stated that the building was Listed grade II but this may have been a mistake, or it may have been delisted in the 1983 revision.
E. Rose (NLA), 2007.
