Map

Pond marked on (S1) as Broomhill Mere, shown with dykes radiating from it, some to the river, one passing though a smaller pond to the south. (S2) shows parallel dotted lines connecting the large and small ponds. There are now other points to the southeast and southwest made in 1975. The large pond is now known as Weeting Decoy according to C. Pendleton (SAU) who believes that this is either a natural mere adapted to a decoy or an early decoy constructed as such.
(S1) and (S2) in file.
E. Rose (NLA), 19 June 2007

July 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The pond or mere described above, which may represent a post medieval duck decoy, is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a recent lidar survey (S3). As it is depicted on readily accessible historical and modern maps, it has not been mapped by the project.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 20th July 2017.
