Map

Field Survey, February 2000.
Location in village of Wiggenhall St Mary the Virgin, later moved into the parish of Wiggenhall St Germans - St Mary the Virgin civil parish has now been abolished and taken into St Germans. The site encompasses a pair of terraced cottages which have now been converted into one. Bricks with diagonal skintlings; original catslide to rear; end stacks; ceiling timbers simple poles and edge joists; catslide roof has nailed trusses; 18th century style doors. Date probably around 1750. The terrace once continued further west and had a factory to the rear (See (S1) and (S2)) - did the terrace house the workers for this factory? In June 1998 the owner at the time stated that he had found a Medieval hearth under the floor with a brick dated to the 13th century by Kings Lynn Museum - there was no record of this at the museum. Nothing was known about the finds by the new owners in 2000. The original owner is now believed to live in Yorkshire.
