Summary

Metal-detecting in 2008 and 2014 recovered a Mesolithic/Neolithic flint blade; a Late Saxon/medieval pottery sherd; a Roman tile fragment; a Late Iron Age coin and Late Iron Age to Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman brooches and a silver finger ring; a Late Saxon brooch; a Late Saxon/medieval bar-mount and stirrup-strap mount; a Late Saxon/post-medieval spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval brooch, finger ring, harness pendant, seal matrix, thimble and unidentified gilt copper alloy object; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a furniture stud and post-medieval cloth seals, crotal bells, harness mounts, a weight, coin weight and sword belt fitting fragment.
