Summary

Metal detecting between 2008 and 2018 recovered a Roman pottery sherd; a number of Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins (including an Iron Age coin of Roman issue); post-medieval tokens; a post-medieval jetton and a number of other, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman copper alloy stud or nail; a Roman/Early Saxon escutcheon plate from vessel drop handle; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval spur buckle, chafing dish fragment, padlock key, book clasp and copper alloy stud; a medieval/post-medieval spoon, coin weight, purse bar and knife end cap and a post-medieval harness mount, furniture drop handle, copper alloy apothecary weights, tiny toy cannon, lead cloth seal and lead Russian bale seal.
