Summary

Metal-detecting between 2008 and 2021 recovered an Early Neolithic leaf-shaped flint arrowhead; Neolithic/Bronze Age flint flakes; Roman, medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval to post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens; undated copper alloy casting waste and a range of other, Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman brooch and copper alloy stud or nail; a Late Saxon lead probable gaming piece; an unusual Late Saxon/medieval strap end; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead standing weight; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval spur, horse-harness pendant, possible binding strip from box or casket, zoomorphic mount or binding strip, thimble or sewing ring and copper alloy seal matrices; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments, a silver strap fitting or book clasp and small lead throwing die and post-medieval coin weights, a spur, scabbard chape, hooked book mount, hooked sword belt fitting, copper alloy weight, lead powder charge cap or measure and lead cloth seals.
