Summary
In 2008 during the excavation of the foreshore mobile sediments to emplace a rock groyne for sea defences a mid-20th century timber groyne from earlier sea defences was recovered.

October 2008. Watching Brief.
Excavation of the mobile foreshore sediment revealed no significant archaeological features and evidence for the original timber groyne seas defence of mid-20th century date.
