Map

1999-2000. Fieldwalking
An area was part- systematically fieldwalked after forest clearance. An eccentric example of Green's British Oblique, Type 'f' arrowhead was discovered and is of particular note as it seems to be unique (S1). It has a leading edge forming an equilateral triangle with the adjacent edgs and the tail is extended to form a long tang.
An incomplete polished flint axe with broad round cutting edge and abrupt butt recovered. Polish is confined to the extreme edge of the blade.
A long, narrow notched flint flake with inverse retouch on the concave edge was discovered, along with four scrapers. A piercer was discovered, made from thick, naturally pointed flake. Burnt at the proximal end.
3 miscellaneous retouched pieces, five cores and 81 blade-like flakes were recovered from across the site.
H. White (NLA), 13 November 2008.
