Summary

Metal detecting in 2008 revealed a wide variety of finds dating from the Neolithic to the post-medieval period. Finds included a flint scraper, post-medieval coins, an unusual Early Saxon cruciform brooch, a Middle/Late Saxon strap end and an unusual medieval book clasp.

Full Description

September- October 2008. Metal Detecting.
An early(?) Neolithic horseshoe type scraper, post medieval coins, tokens and jettons, fragments of an unusual cruciform brooch, fragments of a strap end, a lead seal matrix, a book clasp, a buckle frame, a scale pan, a possible lead container lid, a Russian bale seal and a possible ingot were recovered.
